DXB Terminal 3 now has a waiting lounge for Uber and Careem riders. Learn where it is, how PIN pickup works and which ride categories use the queue.
After a long flight, the final part of the journey can be the least comfortable: bags have been collected, but the passenger still has to identify the correct parking level and wait for a car in the heat.
Dubai International now has a dedicated waiting lounge for Uber and Careem riders at Terminal 3 Arrivals. This is not an airline lounge with departure-side access and catering. It is a practical space beside the primary ride pickup area.
What has opened
The Government of Dubai Media Office announced the opening on 17 August 2026. The facility was created by Uber in partnership with Dubai Airports for passengers arriving at Terminal 3.
The official Dubai Airports listing places the lounge at Terminal 3 Arrivals in the Uber pickup area.
Facilities include:
air conditioning and air purification;
comfortable seating;
space for large luggage;
high chairs and tables suitable for briefly opening a laptop;
USB-C and USB-A charging points;
standard power sockets.
The official pages do not list a separate entrance charge or reservation requirement. The space should not be confused with a conventional paid airport lounge: its purpose is to make waiting for a booked ride more comfortable.
Which trips use the PIN queue
The key qualification concerns ride category. The dedicated PIN Dispatch queue is officially described for:
UberX;
Careem Comfort.
After the ride is requested, the app displays a code. The rider proceeds to the marked queue and provides the PIN to the next available driver in the relevant dispatch area. The system connects the request to the vehicle at the pickup point, removing the need to search a row of cars for a pre-assigned driver.
Other ride categories may follow a different process. Riders can use the waiting space, but should follow the precise pickup point shown in the app rather than automatically joining the UberX or Careem Comfort queue.
Before joining the PIN queue, open the booking and confirm the ride category and current pickup point.
collect your baggage and enter the public arrivals area;
proceed to Exit 2 towards the car park;
cross the road towards the parking structure;
enter the tunnel and continue towards the car park;
turn right towards the pickup area;
find the main Uber and Careem area and follow the lounge signs.
Inside, signage identifies the start of the queue and the sequence towards dispatch. The official announcement also refers to a designated left entrance for riders proceeding to the PIN queue.
Uber may use pickup points on Level 1 or Level 3 at Terminal 3. Assignment depends on current conditions and the selected ride, so live app directions take priority over a saved guide or an old screenshot.
What to prepare before leaving the terminal
Connect to the internet and open the app before approaching the queue.
Confirm that Terminal 3 and the correct pickup area are selected.
Check that the category is UberX or Careem Comfort if you intend to use the PIN queue.
Keep the code ready, but do not give it to an unrelated person in advance.
Once the ride is linked, compare the vehicle and driver details with the app.
Never accept an off-app trip from somebody claiming to represent Uber or Careem.
The main improvement is not a guaranteed reduction of every journey by a fixed number of minutes. It makes the wait more predictable: passengers can remain in a cool space, keep luggage close and charge a phone while dispatch is organised.
At busy times, a vehicle may still take time to reach the pickup point. PIN Dispatch can organise the queue, but it cannot remove road conditions, vehicle availability or operational changes within the airport.
What not to confuse
The lounge is at Terminal 3 Arrivals, not in the departures area.
It is a ground-transport waiting lounge, not an airline business lounge.
The PIN queue is officially for UberX and Careem Comfort, not every ride category.
The final pickup point is always determined by current app and airport directions.

Practical conclusion
The new Terminal 3 facility solves a very specific problem: it gives Uber and Careem riders a climate-controlled place to wait beside the primary pickup zone. UberX and Careem Comfort riders also have a designated PIN Dispatch queue.
The BELLBOY GUIDE advice: request the ride only through the official app and follow its current instructions after booking. Airport routing and the assigned pickup level can change faster than a published guide.
Pickup locations, eligible ride categories and queue arrangements may change with airport traffic and operating conditions. Check current app and airport directions immediately after arrival.
