Sheremetyevo SVO: terminals, connections and Moscow transfer

At Sheremetyevo, the journey starts with the right terminal. Plan your arrival, onward transport and flight connection without unnecessary detours.

Sheremetyevo SVO: terminals, connections and Moscow transfer

Your ticket says SVO, the screen names a terminal, and your accommodation is across Moscow. These details belong together. Check the flight first, then plan the journey into the city.

For comparison: Moscow airports: arrival and transfers.

One airport, not a fixed regional territory

Sheremetyevo is northwest of Moscow, with domestic and international services. Aeroflot is a significant reference point; the airport directory also lists other Russian and international airlines. Istanbul, Dubai and Beijing are examples in Aeroflot’s international destination list. That does not give the airport an exclusive geographical territory: different Moscow airports may serve the same destination. Airline, flight number and travel date matter. Aeroflot: destinations.

Check the terminal first

The northern complex includes B and C; the southern complex uses the designations D, E and F. A label on a transport page does not mean your flight operates from that terminal. Check the booking and current flight information. For pickup, send the terminal and flight number, not just “SVO”, and agree on a specific meeting point.

Connecting involves more than a shuttle ride

Aeroexpress describes an underground shuttle between the complexes. Confirm its operation and your passenger route at the airport; older airport pages can contain different information. A short shuttle ride is not your complete connection time. At your first check-in, ask where the bag is tagged to and whether you must collect it at SVO. Separate tickets do not create an automatically protected connection. Ask your airline to confirm the procedure and the time required. Aeroexpress: terminal connections; Rossiya: connections.

Train, bus or taxi?

Aeroexpress connects the airport with Moscow’s rail network. Belorussky is not the best exit for every address: check possible interchanges and the timetable for your date. The airport section is not an ordinary metro journey; check its ticket separately. Express buses 1195 and 1195D connect the relevant terminal areas with Khovrino. Choose by terminal and confirm the stop, operating hours and fare. For a taxi, check the precise destination, meeting point and total price, including possible supplements. A guaranteed road journey time cannot be promised. Moscow Transport: rail links.

For the onward journey: Metro and city transport.

Prepare arrival and departure calmly

Check your luggage before leaving baggage reclaim; report missing items there. Save your accommodation address and entrance details. For departure, work backwards from your airline’s check-in, bag-drop and boarding deadlines. The city journey, reaching the terminal and checks each require time. Leaving early does not replace checking the correct terminal.

For a train connection, check the exact departure station: Railway stations and departures. For your first day in the city: Moscow: a first city guide.

Connectivity without false promises

Keep your booking, address and route available offline. If considering an eSIM through our blueSIM service, confirm current Russia availability, device compatibility and activation conditions before purchasing. Initial setup requires an existing internet connection. Airport Wi-Fi is not a substitute for an offline plan.
